CHILD ABUSE
Child abuse is a burning issue now in the UAE. Many children
have become victims of inhuman treatment by the adults. Children are so fresh
and so undeveloped. They should be treated with great care and genuine love. On
the contrary, they are misused and mishandled by some of the perverts who are a
menace to the society. These barbarians take undue advantage of their innocence
and easily lure them for their satisfaction. As a result, a lot of people are
forced to live with the scar of abuse throughout their life. Their entire life
is surrounded by untold misery. It is
really painful to think of such horrific deeds on our lovely children who are
our future.
In most cases small children under the age of thirteen are
picked by the perverts for their satisfaction. Both male and female children
are maltreated. Why does it often happen only to them? At this age the children
are very innocent. They do not know how to resist. They can be easily
threatened or lured. They are afraid of the strangers and become submissive to
them and listen to what they command out of fear. Therefore it is very easy for
these hungry heartless people to victimize our naïve and blameless children.
There are some unimaginable and unpardonable cases that have
happened in the UAE. Wadeema and her sister were the poor victims of child
abuse.Their situation was pathetic and hard to understand because their own
father and the step mother tortured the little ones to the extreme until Wadeema
had a painful death and her sister got ten per cent permanent disability.
Unless one has a hard heart, it is not easy to pick someone so little and so
fresh to the world and torture her/him. After this fatal incident, UAE Vice
President, and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed has recently passed
the ‘Wadeema Law’ named after the small, innocent and lovely girl who was
tortured to death. This law protects children’s right to ensure safety, a stable
future and freedom from child abuse. According to the law, a child’s safety is
the priority and abusers face strict penalties.
Prevention is better than cure. Some effective measures have
to be taken to put an end to child abuse, a shameful act. Basically, the parents’
role in the family is very valuable. They should always be alert and have a
frequent check on them. The saddest part of their life is that they will not
have any idea when their child is being misused. The abuser might be a trusted
family friend, or a relative. or a known devil. Both girls and boys are at
risk. Child abuse is like a nightmare to the parents. Before anything wrong
happens, parents need to take precautions. They have to spend more time with
their children and listen to them with interest when they have something to
say. This will help the tiny tots to tell their parents when they are in danger.
They must be advised not to talk to the strangers.
Although in the UAE child abuse is not common, there are
some rare cases. Even they have to be rooted out because ‘there can be nothing
so brutal and heartless as child abuse.

cases of child abuse, the government here takes it seriously and an immediate severe
action is taken upon the abusers. In my opinion, the best solution is to give the
death penalty. There should not be double thinking or hesitation. This will
reduce or absolutely put an end to the abusers because they will have the fear
of this punishment. “Child abuse is an absolutely hateful and abhorrent crime
and these allegations are truly dreadful and they mustn’t be left hanging in
the air, so I’m taking action today,” David Cameron, British Prime Minister
said while he was talking to B.B.C. following the child abuse allegation
against a member of Tory family. No government or any society accepts child
abuse because it has a negative impact on the child. It destroys the future of
the innocent child. It teaches the child to become bad and brutal in the
future. It affects the child both mentally and physically. Moreover, it teaches
wickedness and turns the abused child into a cruel human being in the future.
Think of the pathetic state of an abused child! It rips our heart to pieces
when we feel the pain a child suffers from. The happiness and enjoyment will be
far from them. He/She is forced to live in fears and tears all his/her life.
Child abuse is the worst kind of crime in the human society.
Children are innocent and never ever should be ill treated for any reasons. Severe
laws can change the society and prevent child abuse. Small and innocent
children need a lot of love and care from their family members in the first
place. They should be given safety and protection.
